In its fresh Inflation Report, the central bank said the number of foreign workers employed in Hungary had edged over 100,000 in February 2024, citing data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH).
The number of foreign employees has risen by about 40,000 since 2020 as the labor market moved close to full employment and employers faced recruitment challenges, it added.
At the same time, the number of Hungarians employed at local units abroad also rose over 100,000, close to peak pre-pandemic levels, the MNB said.
