Following Manu Chao’s full-house, 2,5-hour gig at the capital’s Budapest Park concert venue in 2013, branded the concert of the year by critics, the popular French-born artist is coming to Hungary again on 13 July this year to perform La Ventura at Park.
Butterfly Garden Openes In Budapest Zoo

From 5th June, you can visit the popular summer attraction, the Butterfly Garden, at our Zoo. In the facilities to be found behind the Palm House, visitors can observe several hundred specimens of 23 tropical butterfly species. The Butterfly Garden has a surface area of 260 square metres: more than five hundred specimens of 23 species of butterfly can be seen by our visitors.

This Castle Festival in Budapest is a feast of classical, swing, klezmer and traditional Hungarian gypsy music. The truely beautiful courtyard of the Vajdahunyad Castle provides a romantic background for this annual event. Disaster Control offices received 1,600 reports of damage in Budapest and another 3,000 elsewhere in the wake of the storm that swept across Hungary yesterday. A house collapsed in Budapest, leaving injured people trapped under the rubble. Several trolleybuses and trams did not run as their overhead cables were damaged in the storm.

Two men died instantly when they pushed their mobile metal scaffolding into contact with an overhead electricity cable as they were working on renovating a school in Monor, Pest county on Tuesday. A co-worker received a massive electric shock as he tried to help them, and is receiving medical treatment at Honvéd hospital.

Parliament supported Budapest’s bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics on Monday with the support of governing party and Jobbik politicians, with the exception of Fidesz MP János Bencsik. Under the resolution, an Olympic bid committee will be set up with 24 members, all designated by the Speaker of the House.
