Festive Season Brings Special Programs to Budapest’s Thermal Baths
Visitor numbers at Budapest's thermal baths rise steadily during the holidays. Budapest Spas Plc runs special programs, sauna marathons, New Year's Eve events, and extended hours to keep relaxation front and center through the winter break and into the new year.

Csillaghegyi Bath kicks off with its Advent Sauna Marathon in the panorama sauna on Advent weekends from late November, blending physical and mental refreshment.

Mark your calendar for Széchenyi Bath's End-of-Year Winter Sauna Marathon on December 28, 2025. Sauna masters Bence Hubert and Márton Decsi lead sessions in the festively decked-out Palm House for a post-holiday reset.

Rudas Baths hosts a popular New Year's Eve bash with traditional soaking plus modern entertainment: belly dancing, LED juggling, revue dances, and a cocktail show. Follow it with their January 1 "Hangover" program to ease into the year.

Families can catch the fourth year of Lumina Park's "Magic World" light installations at Palatinus Bath, running until March 1, 2026, for evening strolls amid the glow.

Holiday Hours (December 19, 2025 – January 6, 2026):
Széchenyi and Rudas Baths extend hours, but Rudas offers only co-ed bathing during this period.

  • December 24: Széchenyi, Rudas, Lukács open morning to 1 p.m.

  • December 25: Széchenyi, Rudas, Lukács open from 10 a.m. (normal evening hours). Other baths closed.

  • December 26: Baths open at 10 a.m. (Palatinus at 9 a.m.).

  • December 31: Reduced hours across baths.

  • January 1: Open from 10 a.m.

From January 7, 2026, entry prices rise by about 5% (matching inflation), but discounts like BudapestGO, morning, and evening deals stay in place.
