Retail sales in Hungary rose by an annual 3.6 percent in March, accelerating from 0.8 percent in the previous month, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Thursday show. Adjusted for calendar year effects, retail sales were up by 5.6 percent, which KSH attributed to the effect of the Easter holidays.

The average gross wage in Hungary rose by 10.7% year-on-year to 274,800 forints (EUR 848) in February, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. Net wages grew at the same rate as gross wages, also climbing by 10.7% to 182,700 forints (EUR 582.9).

Starting at 5:30 pm and lasting until 10 pm, the “We will not remain silent!” protest featured musical performances by a variety of musicians and DJs, as well as speeches by notable artists and activists.
