When it comes to enjoying a satisfying meal in Hungary, changes are you’ll probably have to dine at sit-down restaurant. The Grey Cattle Festival, by the foot of the Badacsony hill where it grazes, is mostly a food fest with a cooking competition (beef goulash, etc…) accompanied by folk dance, music and other cultural offerings. And local wines, of course - try the winnerof the Szürkebarát (Pinot Gris) competition.

Hungary's call to reduce food waste has received wide support from the member states of the European Union. 14 member states attending the session of the European Agricultural and Fisheries Council immediately joined the initiative put forward by Hungarian Minister for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas and assured Hungary of their support.
