The Hungarian Football Association (MLSZ) has appointed Belgian trainer Georges Leekens, 68, as coach for Hungary’s national eleven, the federation’s website mlsz.hu reported.
Zoltán Szélesi Appointed Acting National Coach In Hungary

The Hungarian Football Association (MLSZ) has appointed Zoltán Szélesi acting coach for the last two matches the national eleven is scheduled to play this year. Over the past two years Szélesi, 35, has been assistant to his predecessor, Bernd Storck, who quit his post on October 17 after the team’s failure to qualify for the 2018 World Championship.

Hungary’s head coach since the summer of 2015, Bernd Storck, has left his post with immediate effect after a rollercoaster two years in charge of the men’s national team. His assistant Andreas Möller leaves with him but his other countrymen in the national-team set-up will remain in their positions.

Former Csepel player József Tóth, who played 12 times for the Hungarian national team between 1953 and 1957, died on 9 October, aged 88. The Hungarian Football Federation has been informed by József Tóth’s family that the former Golden Team member passed away this Monday.
