Nine films from Norway, Sweden, France, Iceland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile and the US are competing for the Breaking Waves main prize of this year’s Titanic International Film Festival in Hungary. The head of the international jury is multi-award winning Hungarian filmmaker János Szász. Irish black comedy Calvary opened the festival on April 4.

A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) held routine annual consultations on economic policy in Hungary from March 5 to 17, the Economy Ministry said on Monday. The negotiations were the first since Hungary paid back ahead of schedule its 20 billion euro IMF loan taken out in 2008.
