Béla Bartók and Polish culture will be central elements of the Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival held between Oct. 7 and 23, the head of the organising committee said. The festival, the largest of its kind in central and eastern Europe, will also feature events commemorating the 60th anniversary of Hungary’s 1956 anti-Soviet revolution, Csaba Káel said.

The Zemplén Festival in northeastern Hungary will celebrate its 25th anniversary, with a focus on classical music and jazz, between August 12 and 21.
