Two Korean opera singers open the 1st Korea-Hungary Classical Music Festival with famous opera arias and Korean songs. Yunah Lee, performing frequently at the US opera houses, is broadening her stage to Europe. She is thrilling the audience with “handsomely colored full lyric sound”. Many agree that Verdi’s most magnificent creation is Otello, an opera based on Shakespeare’s tragedy. Xpats can check it out at the open-air stage in the heart of Budapest on Margaret Island, as world famous soprano Andrea Rost and American tenor Marc Heller playing the leading roles at the end of this month.

The Hungarian Jászság Folk Ensemble was established in 1971. The members of the group live in Jászberény, which is a town 80 kilometers far from the Hungarian capital city, Budapest. In the beginning of the ’90s, the Csángó Festival was the first to open the doors to the minority cultures of surrounding countries.
