Marilyn Manson to Play in Budapest Again Next Year

Marilyn Manson was formed in 1989, and the band — as well as the frontman, originally Brian Hugh Warner — took its name by combining “Marilyn Monroe” and “Charles Manson,” as the frontman, who initially worked as a journalist, believed that for the media, both the sex symbol and the murderous cult leader were merely sensational figures.
This choice already signaled that Marilyn Manson aimed to be both provocative and critical. The shock-rockers released their first album in 1994 under Trent Reznor’s (Nine Inch Nails) then-new label. Their second album, Antichrist Superstar, brought the band widespread fame.
To date, the group has released 12 studio albums; their latest record, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1, came out in 2024. In recent days, Marilyn Manson hinted on Instagram that the Chapter 2 is coming very soon, so it’s quite possible that Budapest audiences will hear songs from it as well.
In addition to music, Marilyn Manson is active in other artistic fields: he paints and has appeared in several films and TV series.
He is currently focused on touring — even though the band has not yet finished the European leg of the One Assassination Under God tour, they have already announced new festival dates and concerts for next year, including the Budapest performance on July 22 at Budapest Park.
