Hungary has tens of thousands of unfilled jobs with mechanics, cleaners and garbage collectors among the most sought-after workers, the Saturday edition of daily Magyar Idők said. Citing August jobs data from the economy ministry, the paper said there was also a nationwide shortage of construction, industrial and agricultural workers, with each sector reporting over 1,000 vacancies.

The iconic confectionary Jégbüfé, operating since the 1950s on Ferenciek tere in downtown Budapest, will soon reopen in nearby Petõfi utca, Magyar Idõk has learnt. The shop will be somewhat smaller and will have a café and a VIP section. The walls will be decorated with pictures taken by French photographer Bruno Borel in the Jégbüfé since 1989.
