Hungary has transposed the European Union’s new anti-money laundering directive into national law, the National Bank of Hungary said. The EU’s Fourth Anti-Money Laundering Directive came into force on June 26, 2017. Amendments bringing Hungary’s rules in line with the directive are effective from Thursday.

Varga said businesses could plan ahead if the related security was in place. Consumer prices in Hungary grew by an annual 1.9 percent in June, down from 2.1 percent in May, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Tuesday. The June rate was slightly below the market consensus of 2 percent. Food prices grew by 3.1 percent and prices of spirits and tobacco climbed by 4.6 percent in June.
