Economic migration is a bad thing and Hungary cannot give refuge to people leaving their homes for economic reasons, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said. An estimated 350,000 people left Hungary to live abroad between 2009 and 2013, according to a Central Statistical Office study. The data collected at the start of 2013 shows that 80% of the migrants were under 40 years old. Around 30% of them were university graduates, which is well above the Hungarian average of 18%.
