'Charm of Seoul – What We Wear, Where We Live', Museum of Ethnography Budapest

On display until 18 February 2024. The Museum of Ethnography in Budapest opened this exhibition from the Seoul Museum of History explores the history and modern daily life of the South Korean capital looking at the changes in dress and housing culture, among other things.

150 years ago on 17 November 1873, the city of Budapest was established by the unification of Pest, Buda and Óbuda. The origins of Budapest can be traced to the 4th century BC when the Celts occupied parts of Hungary. It was later conquered by the Roman Empire, which established the town of Aquincum around AD 100 on the site of today's city of Budapest.

Idly looking around online for things of a cultural bent to do in the capital, I landed on the Müpa Budapest website and was struck by how many of the events were sold out, particularly as we’re talking pretty high culture.

Now on until 12 March 2017. The Műcsarnok in Budapest celebrates the 120th anniversary this year. From the Island of Mohács the „devils” still come on boats, according to the legend. Those arriving by boats walk to Kóló Square to join the rest, and then all proceed through the streets, mixing in with the audience along the way.
