Hungarian TAX Office Clamps Down On HUF 430M Retail Tax Fraud

The national tax office (NAV) has clamped down on a retail ring involving large-scale tax fraud, involving 13 suspects. One person is already in pre-trial custody, NAV told MTI. The supermarket chain based in Pécs, southwest Hungary, distributed cleaning products, home appliances, sweets and coffee, but did not pay value added tax (VAT) on its sales.

Initially opened by a student but now run by Mr. Sheikh Swapan this restaurant may not be pleasing to the eye but is certainly pleasing to the stomach. Located at Akácfa utca 40, this restaurant certainly complies with the commonly used phrase “hole in the wall”. Both because of it’s positioning on a side street here in Budapest but also because of its extraordinarily small interior. ...

The Israeli Cultural Institute in Budapest has opened a centre named after Tivadar Herzl, a 19th-century Jewish journalist and writer born in Pest who is considered to have been the father of modern political Zionism. Minister for Human Resources Zoltán Balog told the opening event on Sunday evening that learning is vital for different people and cultures living together.
