A statement by the interior ministry said that Hungary is the country most burdened by illegal immigration out of the member states concerned. The Spanish carrier Iberia has launched its direct Madrid-Budapest flight on Tuesday morning, with the first flight’s 95 passengers being greeted at the airport by Hungary’s ambassador to the Spanish capital. The new flight will operate between 2 June until the end of October twice a week, with two flights serving the route on Tuesdays and Thursdays but none on Mondays and Fridays.
