Now You See Me 3 to Premiere Featuring Budapest on Screen
When Now You See Me: Now You Don’t hits theaters worldwide on November 14, 2025, audiences will once again join the Four Horsemen — and spot several recognizable corners of Budapest among the film’s international locations.

Global Release and Cast

The new installment will debut globally through Lionsgate, continuing the popular magic-heist franchise that began in 2013. Returning cast members include Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, and Lizzy Caplan, alongside new additions Rosamund Pike, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt, and Justice Smith.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Venom), the film is produced by Bobby Cohen and Alex Kurtzman for Summit Entertainment and Secret Hideout. Fleischer’s installment aims to blend large-scale spectacle with practical effects, keeping the series’ trademark mix of mystery, illusion, and high-energy storytelling.

Plot and Direction

The story sees the Horsemen reuniting for a new global operation — a mission to take down a powerful diamond heiress and criminal syndicate leader, Veronika Vanderberg. Working alongside a new generation of illusionists, the group must outwit an opponent whose fortune is built on the illicit jewel trade.

The film continues the overarching mythology of The Eye, the secret organization guiding the Horsemen’s missions since the franchise began. Fleischer’s approach emphasizes authentic, in-camera magic and dynamic character interplay, supported by his established chemistry with Eisenberg and Harrelson from earlier collaborations.

Budapest on Set

Budapest served as a major part of the film’s European production schedule, with several key sequences shot across the city in 2024. The Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the Museum of Fine Arts hosted important scenes, while the cast was frequently seen filming in and around central Budapest during the summer and early autumn.

Off set, Morgan Freeman was spotted dining at the restaurant Déryné, and Jesse Eisenberg visited a local magic shop while preparing for his role — a small detail that ties neatly into the franchise’s world of illusion.

Hungarian crews and specialists supported the production across departments, and local performers joined the supporting cast, reinforcing the city’s established reputation for high-level film craftsmanship.

Production and Release

The choice to base part of the shoot in Budapest came down to a mix of efficient logistics, strong infrastructure, and adaptable architecture. Hungary’s combination of production incentives and experienced crews continues to make it a go-to location for major international projects.

Filming in Hungary ran from mid-summer through the fall of 2024, before moving to additional locations in Paris, Antwerp, New York, and Abu Dhabi. The movie wrapped later that November, with Budapest once again adding its distinctive look to a global studio feature. Audiences will be able to catch Now You See Me: Now You Don’t — and a few unmistakable Budapest landmarks — when it opens in theaters on November 14.
