The St Andrew's Ball is now an established Scottish entry into the year’s social calendar - thanks to lots of hard work by the St Andrew's Association team, it's becoming a well-oiled machine. Held at the Budapest Marriott Hotel last Saturday, in the main ballroom this year, it was a 'full house' expat community event.

Hungarian students perform worse than average in the area of collaborative problem-solving, according to the 2015 PISA international assessment of educational attainment. In the OECD report released on Tuesday, Hungarian students had 472 points on this score, below the OECD average of 500 points.

Extremist paramilitary organisations in Hungary have been “suppressed” and pose no national security risks, the members of parliament’s national security committee said at a meeting behind closed doors on Tuesday. Interior Minister Sándor Pintér was among those that briefed the meeting on the subject.
