Rocker chellists from Finland, and Hungarian music legends – these are just the highlights of this year’s Campus Festival taking place in the heart of Debrecen’s Nagyerdő - Big forest. East Hungary’s biggest open-air party drew 50,000 visitors last year. In 2012 over 200 acts are on the festival’s lineup, which ranges from concerts to movie premieres and stand-up comedians.

The Last Happy Day, a 37-minute film by Lynne Sachs. Screening followed by film discussion with visiting New York filmmake. The 2009 film by Lynne Sachs is a portrait of a doctor who saw the worst of society and ran. The Last Happy Day is an experimental documentary portrait of Sandor (Alexander) Lenard, a Hungarian medical doctor and a distant cousin of filmmaker Lynne Sachs.

"Brilliant Corners" is a new piece for 10 dancers to an original score by Emanuel. The work explores the forces, both mechanical and human, which generate the choreographic substance. The show, premiered in 2006, was inspired by Franz Kafka’ The Trial, and staged in a grotesque and carnival-like way, resulting in an overturned and colorful reflection of Kafka’s world. In the film, based on a novel by Hungarian writer Magda Szabo, Mirren plays a housekeeper. She described her role in the film as the most demanding and complex of her career."
