New Textile Collection Celebrates Hungary's Furmint Grape With a Bit of Italian Flair
The scenic beauty of Tuscany and the uniqueness of the Hungarian Furmint grape come together in a new textile collection, which is the result of a partnership between Toscaneria Kft., the Hungarian representative of the Italian textile manufacturer Busatti, and the premium guesthouse operators Kiss-Henézi Guest House.

The first Busatti Furmint collection realized through the extraordinary efforts of five families, was unveiled in Mád, the heart of the Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region.

The event was attended by prominent winemakers and guests, including the Mayor of Mád, József Tatárka, and the 2022 Golden Vines Best Fine Wine Producer award winner, István Szepsy Jr.

The event also saw the presence of members from the Mádi Kör Eredetvédelmi Egyesület and the Tokaji Borbarátnők Társasága, along with representatives from renowned wineries like Mariasy and Sauska.

Busatti, a brand with nearly two centuries of history, is known for creating collections for luxury brands like Prada and Chopard, the company has now crafted a textile collection inspired by the Furmint grape, a Hungarian national treasure.

This marks the first time the prestigious Italian company has created a design honoring the Tokaj wine region.

The elegant Busatti Furmint fabric is crafted in regal gold and pastel blue, reflecting the climate of the Tokaj region.

The initial product line includes tablecloths, table runners, napkins, curtains, and decorative pillows, complemented by a special Hollóházi porcelain lamp.

Livio Sassolini Busatti, head of the ninth generation of the Busatti family and a board member of Unione Imprese Centenarie Italiane, expressed pride in the new design.

He noted that the Busatti Furmint pattern makes them particularly proud as it allows them to collaborate closely with two globally recognized wine regions: Chianti in Tuscany and Tokaj in Hungary.

Mária Péntek, managing director of Toscaneria Kft., recounted the project's origins, crediting Dóri and Gábor Kiss-Henézi of Kiss-Henézi Guest House for initiating the idea.

The collaboration began at the premiere of the Busatti Zwack Unicum collection. Péntek emphasized the honor of collaborating with family businesses dedicated to promoting the Tokaj wine region's values and reputation, including Kiss-Henézi Guest House, Mád Demetervin Winery, Harangszó Guest House Mád, and Adrienne Deluxe.

The premium Busatti Furmint textile collection, made from 100% certified cotton, will be available from late May 2024 on Toscaneria.hu.
