Tourist Guest Nights Up 1.5% In July

In July, the number of nights spent by international tourists in commercial accommodation rose by 2.6%, while nights spent by domestic tourists were up 0.7% compared to a year earlier. Total gross revenues of accommodation establishments grew by 18% at current prices, according to a first release of July data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

Consumer prices in Hungary grew by an annual 2.6 percent in August, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Friday. In a month-on-month comparison, prices edged up 0.1 percent from July. Twelve-month CPI picked up from 2.1 percent in July.

Speaking at a press conference, Socialist Party group leader Bertalan Tóth said that over the last three years the government “has ignored the fact that global energy prices have fallen by significant margins”.
