A successful Budapest World Aquatic Championships in 2017 could help Hungary in its bid to host the 2024 Olympics, Budapest Mayor István Tarlós told public television M1. Tarlós said the expected success of the championships would “obviously” be considered when the decision is made on the venue for the 2024 Olympics just a few weeks later.

The amount of beer sold by domestic breweries increased 2% last year and similar growth is forecast for this year, the brewery association MSSZ said. The sale of premium category beers went up 23% last year, a trend that is expected to continue this year. The MSSZ has launched a series of events presenting high-end products, to promote premium beers.
