The government will have prisoners construct the fence on the border with Serbia, Népszava writes today, based on a cabinet resolution published in official gazette Magyar Közlöny. The resolution reassigns Ft 6.57 billion from government reserves to cover costs expected to arise at corrections institutes. The sum is identical to the cost of building the barrier as announced by the government.

Parliament supported Budapest’s bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics on Monday with the support of governing party and Jobbik politicians, with the exception of Fidesz MP János Bencsik. Under the resolution, an Olympic bid committee will be set up with 24 members, all designated by the Speaker of the House.

The economy ministry has set a quota for the number of non-European Union citizens that can be employed in Hungary, a decision published in the official gazette Magyar Közlöny shows.
