Although it is more difficult to get to R33 on foot or on a bike than to the ruinpubs of the 7th District, those apparently empty factory buildings are so exciting we simply had to go there and see for ourselves.

I really didn’t think that László Köver, president/speaker of the Hungarian parliament, could still surprise me. Yet he manages. Here is his latest. By way of preface, I should note that there are some commentators who say that one ought not take Kövér terribly seriously. He is just this kind of a fellow. Perhaps his bark is worse than his bite.

The Students Network (HaHa) admitted to Klubrádió on Monday that it has received American assistance, but said that did not include political influence. Activist Andrea Kóbor told the radio station that an NGO had offered advice, as reported by Magyar Nemzet after the newspaper obtained the movement’s entire internal correspondence.

According to Minister of National Economy György Matolcsy, Hungary may not need to issue foreign currency denominated government securities on international financial markets next year. That was one of the issues the Minister spoke about at the economic programme G7 of Hungary’s public service broadcaster Kossuth Radio on Saturday.
