What seemed unimaginable to many of us has now happened: yet again, war has broken out on our doorstep. We are shocked by the senseless violence that only incites fear and hatred, and certainly brings no solution. Let’s stand together for peace! Let’s show that we, the majority, speak the language of love and togetherness, not the language of hatred and violence.

What do a murdered squirrel, a tiny tank and Hungarian puppet have in common? No, this isn’t some weird riddle; they are all the artistic antics of Mihály Kolodko, a guerilla-sculptor, a Ukranian citizen with Hungarian origins, who was born in the Transcarpathian city of Uzhhorod (Ungvár).

Last Saturday evening Team XpatLoop and friends attended the 'Big Budapest Burns' Supper - complete with the “piping in” of authentic haggis. We enjoyed a 'full-Brigadoon' kind of evening - with singing and dancing, poetry and music. A wonderful taste of Scotland in Hungary, and all for charity!

Last Saturday evening Team XpatLoop and friends attended the 'Big Budapest Burns' Supper - complete with the “piping in” of authentic haggis. We enjoyed a full-Brigadoon kind of evening - with singing and dancing, poetry and music. A wonderful taste of Scotland in Hungary, and all for charity!
