Govt Organising Summer Camps In Hungary For Children From Ukraine

The government will spend 40 million forints (EUR 127,000) on hosting some 700 children from Ukraine in summer camps at Lake Velence in central Hungary, a human resources ministry state secretary said on Tuesday. Miklós Soltész said last year’s similar programmes were very successful and the camps had been both physically and spiritually uplifting experiences for the children.

Lawmakers approved amendments to the 2016 budget act raising both revenue and expenditures by 421.7 billion forints (EUR 1.4bn). The amendments were passed with 121 votes in favour and 63 against. The MPs raised the revenue target from 15,800.4 billion forints to 16,222.1 billion forints. They increased the expenditure target from 16,562.0 billion forints to 16,983.7 billion forints.

Árpád Potápi addressed the unveiling ceremony of a plaque for those Germans who were forced from their homes in Bonyhád and other localities in Tolna county.
