The cities of Budapest, Miskolc, Nyíregyháza and Sajószentpéter issued smog alerts on Monday due to the high concentration of airborne dust particles. The communications director for the Budapest mayor’s office said that the measure was triggered by two consecutive readings indicating that the concentration of dust particles had exceeded “warning level”.
Lifesaving Programme On Public Transport In Budapest

On the occasion of European Restart a Heart Day (16th of October), two vehicles of BKK’s Traffic Incident Investigation Unit were equipped with defibrillators, the lifesaving equipment used to deactivate the unwanted fibrillation of the heart muscle by electric shock.

The Balaton Cross-Swimming will be organized on Saturday 2 July. More than 5,000 people have registered for the swimming event which will cover a 5.2 kilometre distance between Révfülöp in the north and Balatonboglár in the south.

A signature drive started on Tuesday to collect support for a new central hospital on land currently occupied by St János Hospital in Buda. The initiator Zsolt Szilágyi, a local resident, signed the drive with 2nd district Mayor Zsolt Láng and 12th district Mayor Zoltán Pokorni at a press conference in the hospital.

Successful drug prevention is more than just a police officer in front of a blackboard talking about the harms of the different drugs. Only long-term programs can be successful but they are expensive and the schools have no money. Civil organisations would do it for free but they hardly get any state support.

The construction of this Bath was begun by Arslan, the Pasha of Buda in 1565 and was completed by his successor, Sokoli Mustafa. The Király Thermal Bath had no direct hot water base, nor has it any today.
