I’ve heard that people from afar can say or claim whatever they want about themselves. Putting a little twist on the original saying, people can say whatever they want about a person that comes from afar. In case of Nadja Massun, the proverb may be even truer since she does come from very far she lives in Mexico but was born in Africa to a Hungarian mother and a Belgian father.

2014 Update: It was closed down. Hungary is not the most multicultural nation on the planet. 95% Magyar, 2% Roma, and the rest of us. Around 100,000 Chinese live in Hungary, and Budapest has its own Chinatown, well, a sprawling China-shanty-town. Having a free Sunday morning on my hands, a friend and I visited the Szimplakert Haztaji Market. The great ambiance was still there. Almost every seller had samples out to try, whether it be szorp, jam, baked goods, spreads or cheese. All the sellers were friendly, chatty, and proud of their products.
