This year a unique team entered the famous Danube Regatta rowing competition: the men’s crew of Harvard University rowing team grabbed paddles and kept rowing until they reached the first place and won the race.

Last year about 5 million Hungarian adults or 65% were overweight or obese according to a national nutrition and health survey. Fully 67% of men and 62% of women fell into the category of overweight or obese, and the problem rose with age, the survey prepared by the National Institute for Food and Nutrition Science (OETI) said.

Radical nationalist Jobbik has repeatedly called for a public debate and a national referendum on the death penalty, party leader Gábor Vona told public TV news channel M1. Although Roman Catholic he would say “yes” to restoring death penalty in a referendum, he said. “It must be decided what is more important: a couple of international agreements, or the life of Hungarian people,” Vona said.

The Hungarian government is planning to draft legislation on restricting the consumption of energy drinks, according to State Secretary at the Ministry of Human Resources Bence Rétvári. Responding to a written question submitted to the ministry by independent MP Lajos Oláh, who asked whether the government has plans to ban the sale of energy drinks to young people.
