Seiobo, National Dance Theatre Budapest, 18 January
A statue of Buddha with closed eyes, the goddess descending on the Noh stage, horses waiting to be dug up next to Lake Saint Anne, the Venus de Milo carefully guarded in one of the rooms of the Louvre and voices that speak to us from underground...

In her performance, Harangozó-prize winner Noémi Kulcsár reworks in the language of dance the texts of the short story collection titled “Seiobo was down there” by the Man Booker, Kossuth and Prima Primissima award winner László Krasznahorkai.

In addition to Tellabor’s dancers, the students of the Hungarian Dance University take part in the performance that mediates between Hungarian and Japanese traditional and contemporary cultures, and Kitti Hajszán, the resident artist of Tellabor, will also introduce herself as a choreographer.

The quotes projected during the performance come from the traditional Japanese Noh drama titled SEIOBO.

Performed by Kulcsár Noémi’s Tellabor dancers and the students of the Hungarian Dance University
Place: National Dance Theatre Budapest
