András Török: Budapest A Critical Guide
The book introduces Budapest in a thousand ways, additionally, on a more interesting and entertaining manner than the conventional guidebooks. It guides the reader through the cultural, gastronomical and architectural attractions of the capital by the help of several illustrations and practical walking maps in a casual and honest style.
This adventurous journey that leads from the historic monuments through the small shops of hidden streets to special restaurants could end in only one way: getting acquainted and falling in love with Budapest for a lifetime.

This book tries to combine three types of guides with the advantages of all three: the Baedeker type, the critical guidebook and the alternative guidebook. Obviously it will not be exhaustive in all three modes.

There is a Hungarian saying for things that seem impossible: ‘an iron ring made out of wood’. Even if this book cannot overcome the language difficulties, it is designed to put the visitor at ease when making his own plans to discover the city. After all, it is easier to get help with the language from friends, business-partners, interpreters or hotel receptionists, than to get ideas for spending one’s time.
