Used car sales up 12pc in October - JoAutok.hu

Used car sales in Hungary rose close to 12pc year-on-year to 81,100 in October, listings site JoAutok.hu said on Thursday, citing figures compiled by DataHouse.

Sales in November could beat the record 825,000 in 2022, JoAutok.hu said.

JoAutok.hu CEO Bertalan Halasz said some buyers had been diverted to used car purchases by the deteriorating incomes of the previous years.

The weakening of the forint's euro exchange rate attracted some of those who earlier planned to buy imported used cars, and lower interest rates had also boosted purchases with credit, he added.

For the period January-October, used car sales increased 11.4pc year-on-year to 766,200. Sales of imported rose 4.0pc to 92,900.
