Hungary's GVH Fines Vodafone Ft 40 Million
"The Competition Office (GVH) has fined Vodafone Ft 40 million, after finding the mobile phone operator guilty of unfair practices.

Vodafone gave insufficient information on its “summer SMS” promotion campaign between July 13 and September 11, 2009, the GVH found, as the operator did not inform clients that they first had to register in order to win prizes.

As one result, the GVH said, consumers may have been misled into thinking that a grand prize of a holiday or a holiday home was to be awarded every day.

Vodafone has challenged the decision in the Budapest Municipal Court."
