If you answer is yes, than please apply for the Roots and Routes Hungary talent scouting program!
Participation is free.
Roots and Routes is an international cooperation between cultural and social organizations, which provides an opportunity for the development and improvement of young talents in urban music, dance and media. Since 2005 more than 1000 young artists have been participating in R&R programs all over Europe.
During the courses and live performances they got the chance to work with professional artists and experts, to develop their artistic skills, which helps them to reach their goals in entertainment business. The Hungarian coordinator of the project is SZIGET Cultural Management; its partner is the Foundation of Subjective Values. Participation in the program is free.
Actual courses, programs
The upcoming summer course takes ten days, but we arrange a two weeks long workshop between 18 June and 3 July 2010. It is important to let the participants have time to work up, what they have learnt and to improve their own ideas in smaller groups outside of the program.
The lessons and rehearsals will be held in Budapest, and we also organize free time activities and teambuilding to make the time we spend together more memorable. The end part of the course is a live performance of the participants, which they will present on VOLT Festival in Sopron, and we will finish working with an evaluation day on the country side.
Who is the target audience?
We are expecting applications of young talents between the age of 15 and 25, who are interested in the world of the dance, music and media, who are creative, like to work in a team and go for challenges.
Expat young talents at the same age, who are coming from outside the European Union and have been living in Hungary officially for at least 3 months, can also apply for the R&R workshop.
What does a workshop look like?
In the summer course the candidates can experiment with their artistic imagination together with other participants. They can prepare theatrical productions under the operative conduct of Hungarian artists and experts participating in the program. It is very important part of the program to make videos, to record the shows and to develop the virtual profile of the participants.
On the upcoming workshop we are focusing more on the aspect of pedagogy, however, it does not mean conference speeches which are long and boring. We are reflecting on the development of the cooperative skills, on extending the technical knowledge and on enrichment of the performing talent. During the course there will be opportunity for assessment. The aim of the workshop is to use the feedbacks of the coaches efficiently into the working process.
