Angry Subcontractors Continue Protest In Hungary
"Unpaid subcontractors of construction company Szeviep have begun to refill land with gravel on the M43 motorway near Szeged. The companies’ lawyer said they will not stop until they are paid for their work.

Szeviep, which was a member of the Tisza M43 consortium that led the construction of the stretch of the M43 motorway between Szeged and Mako, owes subcontractors some Ft 3 billion for their work.

Last week the subcontractors blocked a lane of road 47 in protest against Szeviep, which recently sought bankruptcy protection.

On Thursday, the National Infrastructure Development Company severed a contract with the three members of the Tisza M43 consortium, which had been on the second phase of the construction, saying the group had broken its agreement with the government."
