U.S. Ambassador Kounalakis Visits Herend

"On July 6, Ambassador Kounalakis visited the Herend Porcelain Factory, where she was received by CEO Dr. Attila Simon. Ambassador Kounalakis displayed great interest in economic conditions in Hungary as well as in the situation of the factory. She was pleased to hear that for decades, the largest market of the profitably operating factory has been the United States.
The Ambassador spoke with enthusiasm about the Herend china which she also collects.
Following the conversation Ambassador Kounalakis viewed the process of china manufacturing, from the raw mass to shaping and hand-painting, which she tried herself."
