His communications company Prestige Média has received several contracts from Fidesz-run cities, including Pécs and Hódmezővásárhely, in recent years, the newspaper adds.
Várhegyi, a former chairman of the Fidesz national council and state secretary for culture in the first Orbán cabinet, resigned his MP’s seat in the autumn of 2010 when a court gave him a suspended jail term after convicting him of misuse of funds."
