Hungarian State TV Report Downplays Protest

Socialist politicians objected, saying it is a falsification of history that empty areas were shown instead of the large-scale demonstration, demanding accountability.
MTI Hírcentrum explained that a mobile unit arrived from Buda Castle too late and had no time to choose an appropriate place.
Prime ministerial spokesman Péter Szijjártó told M1 Tuesday morning that 5,000-8,000 demonstrators took part.
He later told reporters that Hungary is a democratic state governed by the rule of law, it is a free country.
Everybody has their own role, Szijjártó, continued, the cabinet to “release the Basic Law in a worthy way,“ and others to protest against it, and all availed themselves of a right provided by democracy."
