Mortgage Scheme Boosts Home Sales In Hungary
"Home sales reached 8,700 in December, 35% above the monthly average for January-October, according to estimates by estate agency Duna House. The number of transactions was boosted by the early repayment scheme for foreign-currency mortgages, due to forced sales, the agency observed.

Duna House estimates that one in every three December sales was motivated by the opportunity to join the scheme.

As the scheme allows a further 30 days to complete the transactions, January is also expected to be a busy month.

A total of 80,500 homes were sold in 2011, down more than 10% from 2010."
