Eat & Drink In Budapest For 50% On 23 February

Wine and dine for half-price at participating restaurants in Budapest, and right around the country on Gluttonous Thursday – read on to find out about all the participating venues. 'Torkos Csütörtök' revives an old tradition celebrated on the first Thursday after Ash Wednesday, when people were given the chance to fill-up keeping in mind the 40 days of abstinence connected to Lent. Reservations are recommended for this chance to pay 50% less than the menu prices at some of the best eateries in Hungary.
Now in its 7th year in 2012, around 150 restaurants in Budapest and many more around Hungary will all have 'Torkos Csütörtök' signs indicating they are taking part in the promotion - have a look inside their windows as you just may be able to grab a last minute table.
Today has got to be the day to try out one of the fining dining venues you've always thought about visiting but wasn't sure if it would be worth it. A couple of cool options in downtown Budapest's district 5 are Negro, and the Icebar.
