EU Looking Into Hungarian Higher Education Law
"The clause in the higher education act that compels state-funded students to work in Hungary after graduation may be in violation of the European principle of the free flow of individuals, news website Bruxinfo reports.

EU Commissioner for Education Androulla Vassiliou has shared her concerns with the government.

The European Commission is already examining the law passed last October, as well as January’s government decree.

The law stipulates that those whose post-secondary education is funded by the state must spend at least twice as much time working in Hungary in the 20 years following graduation as spent in post-secondary studies.

Those who decide to leave Hungary must repay the entire cost of their university or college education."
