Horse Killer Gets One Year Prison Sentence In Hungary

Budapest District Court on Thursday handed down a one-year prison sentence to a man who stabbed a horse to death on a street in Érd, Pest county in July 2010, in front of its 16-year-old owner.
The court also banned the man definitively from keeping animals and for one year from engaging in public affairs.
About 30 animal activists applauded when the verdict was read out in the courtroom.
