The CEO of KE-RO Jobs has reported himself to the police after committing fraud on a Ft 110 million sewerage project contract in Debrecen. The project was part of a Ft 22 billion undertaking, 58% funded by the EU.

The man said he travelled to Debrecen twice a week to sign an invoice, take out cash from his bank and give the money to the head of the company that had contracted KE-RO. That company was also a subcontractor in a chain.

However, the head of KE-RO did not receive any money back from that person, contrary to their agreement.

He reported that no accurate cost accounting was in place in the project, and that invoices were often improvised.

He added that quality requirements were not observed in the sewerage project and on one occasion double the actual costs were invoiced.
