Riders Ill On Poorly Ventilated Buses In Budapest
Several passengers fell ill on Budapest’s newly procured Mercedes Citaro buses last week as the windows on the second-hand vehicles cannot be opened and the air-conditioning system is not functioning. Passengers complained that the air-conditioning system does not work or that it blows hot air into the buses.

The Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) had put the buses into service on Tuesday as the BKV did not have enough buses available, having had to replace vehicles run by sub-contractors which were not working.

The BKK announced that it ordered ticket inspectors to offer cold water to the passengers on the Mercedes buses.
