Public transport services of BKV offer you a good alternative to reach Budapest city centre from Liszt Ferenc International Airport. From 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. bus 200E connects Liszt Ferenc International Airport Terminal 2 and Kőbánya-Kispest metro station.

To the city centre take metro line M3. Change from M3 to M1 or M2 at Deák Ferenc tér. Bus 200E runs with a daytime frequency of 8-12 minutes and every 15-20 minutes in the evening.

From 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. bus 900 runs from Liszt Ferenc International Airport Terminal 2 to Dél-Pesti autóbuszgarázs.

To get to the city centre, change to bus 950 or 950A at the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út stop.

Passengers travelling to the airport may change from bus 950 or 950A to bus 900 at Honvéd utca (Üllői út).

How do I get tickets?

At the airport single tickets are on sale at the post office, newsagent's and the Tourinform office during the day or 24/7 from the ticket vending machines at the bus stop. More information about Budapest public transport as well as 24-hour travelcards are available at theTourinform office.

In addition, single tickets may be purchased from the driver on buses 200E and 900.

Please do not forget to validate your tickets every time you change vehicles except when changing between metro lines.

Luggage: As on the airplane there are rules concerning the luggage also on the vehicles of BKV. Without paying extra fare, each passenger can carry at most 2 pieces of luggage in the sizes not exceeding 40x50x80 cm or 20x20x200 cm and which is, to the maximum extent, as heavy as one person can carry in a way that it does not inhibit passengers from boarding or alighting the vehicle.

Information: You can receive further information on the use of public transport vehicles at the Tourinform offices (opening hours: Terminal 1 between 0800-2200, Terminals 2A between 0800-2300 and Terminal 2B between 1000-2200).

Surcharge information: Please make sure that your pass or ticket is valid before you use our services. Customers travelling without a valid ticket or pass have to pay a surcharge. The surcharge paid on the spot is HUF 8,000. Customers having a permanent residence in Hungary can pay the surcharge afterwards if they provide their personal data. From 11th January 2011 the BKV ticket inspectors carry out their duties accompanied by the officials of the "Public Area Inspectorate". They are official persons who can carry out identity check.
