"Primas Duel" Concert of the Chamber Ensemble of the "100 Member" Gipsy Orchestra 26 July, 2012

The Chamber Ensemble of the "100 Member" Gipsy Orchestra opens this year’s Dominican Nights. The unique formation brings together the leading Primases and best musicians of the main orchestra, generating an outstandingquality and atmosphere.

Among the performers „Buffó” Sándor Rigó, József Lendvai „Csócsi”, László Berki Jr, Mátyás Jónás, András Suki and the dulcimer king Oszkár Ökrös will be found. The well-known classical tunes are always a truly unique experience in the interpretation of the Orchestra.

Their ecstatic and enjoyable temper and the qualities of the musicians always mean great amusement for both foreign and Hungarian guests.

As the hostess of the program, you will meet Anikó Fehér, the program director of the Hungarian Radio, well-known to our regular guests.

Our kind guests are greeted with music and a glass of Champaign on arrival. During the intermission the hotel bar offers refreshments while looking at the magnificent view of Budapest from above.

The Chamber Orchestra’s concert at the Dominican Court is every year an awaited event on a very special location.

The seven member orchestra founded and led by Ferenc Jávori „Fegya” has been the guest of the Summer Night Concerts at the Hilton Dominican Court since 2003. The orchestra by now has a great Hungarian and foreign audience, who welcome the traditional style of klezmer music as well as the „excursions” to other genres such as ballet and musical, documentary and entertaining films.

This year’s performance, similarly to the previous ones, offers a light summer evening entertainment with the well-known and beloved numbers, the most popular songs from Purim and Wedding Dance, as well as excerpts from their brand new music drama, the Ghetto.

In bad weather or rain the concert shall take place in the Ballroom of the Hilton hotel.
