US Envoy On Anti-Semitism Says Attitudes Towards Minorities In Hungary Should Be Monitored
The Hungarian government should immediately and firmly condemn all forms of anti-Semitism, US State Department Hannah Rosenthal - pictured - declared in Budapest on Friday. Rosenthal, the US special envoy for anti-Semitism, spoke after talks with government commissioner Levente András Gál.

Gál said they discussed ways of establishing a monitoring system that can provide a realistic picture by international standards of whether anti-minority or anti-Semitic phenomena exist in Hungary and in what form.

He told Rosenthal that a committee of historians is being formed to evaluate the history of the Carpathian Basin in the 20th century.
