The spring calendar just got a lot more interesting here. On March 21–22, 2026, the Budapest Comic Con returns to Hungexpo, transforming the venue into Central Europe’s premier destination for geek culture. This year’s edition is set to be the most ambitious yet, sprawling across four massive halls and nearly 26,200 square meters of exhibition space.
The annual Sakura Festival has long been a cherished tradition at the ELTE Botanical Garden, celebrating the blossoming of the Japanese cherry trees and the traditional Japanese holiday of Ohanami. When the cherry trees burst into bloom, visitors are invited to relax on blankets, enjoy a picnic, and admire the magical sight of the Sakura blossoms — just as people do in Japan.
Sziget Festival’s future is back on stable ground. Founder Károly Gerendai has regained control of the event after the previous owners withdrew from the Hungarian market, a move that had placed the festival’s continuity in doubt.
The award-winning Valley of Arts was named the Best Eastern European Festival at the Heavent Festival Awards in Paris. This prestigious recognition places the festival prominently on Europe’s cultural map, surpassing notable competitors such as Serbia's Exit Festival and Kosovo's Sunny Hill Festival.
