Hungarian Bus Company Orangeways Looks To CNG Buses
Hungarian bus company Orangeways has started test runs of buses that run on compressed natural gas (CNG) in Baja, CEO Miklós Kovács told Napi Gazdaság.

The company’s Tolna county unit is in talks with a Ukrainian bus maker on buying nine CNG buses in early 2013 for €200,000 each, as part of a leasing agreement.

Orangeways plans to extend the deal to 50 buses to run between Tamási and Dombóvár.

Buses that run on CNG can generate 30-40% savings compared to diesel models, with 25% lower CO2 emissions.

Orangeways is looking outside of Hungary for new buses because the down payment in Hungary is 40%, Kovács said.
