New Concept For Stadium In Budapest Chosen
The architectural firm of Pomsar & Partners has won the initial tender to prepare guideline plans for the reconstruction of the area around the Puskas Stadium in Budapest’s 14th District, public procurement gazette Kozbeszerzesi Ertesito reveals.

The reconstruction will be carried out in several phases between 2012 and 2020.

In the first phase a modern football stadium will be built separately from facilities for athletic competitions.

Pomsar was awarded Ft 3.5 million for its efforts. Rival bidder Mertek Epiteszeti Studio came second, and will receive Ft 2.7 million, followed by Sagra Epitesz with Ft 2.3 million.

Of the 23 plans filed, a further seven were purchased.
